We are a newly formed committee, under the umbrella of Pakinson's UK (Registered Charity number 258197).
Our aim is to raise funds for specific research projects aimed at finding an ultimate cure for Parkinson's which is a progressive and degenerative disease for which there is currently no cure. In the UK, one person in every 500 has Parkinson's disease (that's 127,000 people) yet both public awareness and support for the condition is very limited. Parkinson's UK's work is purely funded by voluntary donations and could not operate without the generosity and support of both individuals and businesses.
'Funding the Cure' are holding a grand fund raising ball on Saturday 20th February 2016, at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel, London, and we hope you would be able to join us at this special event. We are calling it 'The Blue Butterfly Ball' as the rare blue butterfly is considered a symbol of hope and renewal and is thought to bring good luck or grant a wish.
Our aim is to create a real party atmosphere which our guests are sure to enjoy and remember. We are asking your support by donating raffle and/or auction pries for this event. Also, we are compliling an A4 souvenir brochure for the ocasion and are inviting companies and individuals to purchase advertising space. If you wish to support our worthwhile event by donating raffle or auction prizes or by purchasing advertising space in our souvenir brochure please do contact us. Tickets for this event are now available, at £100 per head and include a champagne reception, a delicious three course dinner, complementary wine at your table and exciting live musical entertainment.
